From what I understood with the new Macbook Air the Bootcamp installation no longer uses a BIOS emulation but a native EFI boot.
I guess the problem may come from here : VMware Fusion is looking for something deprecated on the new Macbook Air in order to detect and setup the Bootcamp partition
